Rebranding women's health

Women’s health is long overdue for a transformation. Despite serving half the population, the industry remains marginalized. Founders in this space face more than just the usual start-up struggles—they battle cultural taboos and systemic biases.

At Alfa Charlie, we’re dismantling these barriers one brand at a time. By elevating how femtech companies present themselves, we’re collectively reshaping public perception. No more stigma. No more taboo. Just essential healthcare, powered by strategy and design.

Every year, we offer a 3-month design partnership ($30k value) for femtech start-ups committed to driving meaningful change.

02FAQ

Who is eligible?

All start-ups innovating in women’s health are encouraged to apply. We’re looking for bold thinkers and real changemakers—companies reimagining what women’s healthcare can be. While WomanKind is open to all stages, this grant is best suited for:

1. Early stage & series A startups at a pivotal point in their journey—on the edge of growth and needing that extra push.

2. Founders ready for a full rebrand, including logo, typography, color palette, and visual identity.

While we welcome all ideas across the spectrum of women’s health, we’re especially drawn to the future-shapers in femtech—where some of the most exciting and impactful innovation is happening.

What is the application process like?

Applications will open September 1, 2025 and close November 1, 2025. All applicants will be invited for a 30-minute video call by mid-December (available Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm PST). We'll notify our winner by December 31st with all other applicants hearing back in early January. Winners should be ready to kick off in mid-January 2026.

What are the judging criteria?

We’re looking for founders who are doing more than launching a product—they’re reimagining what’s possible in women’s health. We prioritize early-stage companies at a pivotal point in their journey: you’re gaining traction, ready to grow, and in need of a strategic, full-scale brand to match your vision. We look for originality, impact, clarity of purpose, and a deep understanding of the problem you’re solving. If your work has the potential to push boundaries, break stigma, and move the industry forward, you’re in the right place.

What do you mean by "women's health"?

When we say ‘women’s health,’ we mean all women—cisgender, transgender, and non-binary. We believe in an inclusive definition of health, one that recognizes the diverse experiences, bodies, and identities of those who identify as women.

What if I'm not selected for the grant?

We'll notify you in early January to let you know. You’ll still have access to free office hours. All applicants can book 15-minute calls with us during set weekly windows to ask questions, get feedback, or talk through anything design-related. It’s our way of continuing to support the work you’re doing, even if you don’t win.

What's included in the grant?

The grant includes our full Brand Navigation Workshop (brand strategy), a new visual identity (logo, colors, fonts, design system), and key brand assets (social templates, pitch decks, etc.). It’s the same level of service we offer our paying clients—just fully covered by us.

When can I apply?

Applications are open from September 1 – November 1. You’ll meet with us for a short 1:1 call by mid-December, and we’ll notify the selected company by December 31. Our 3-month design partnership will begin mid-January and run through mid-April.

How many companies are selected?

One main winner each year—but occasionally, we award microgrants or offer a strategy workshop to runner-ups who we feel we can make a meaningful impact with. Everyone who applies becomes part of our WomanKind network and gains access to ongoing support.

Can non-U.S. companies apply?

Yes! We’re happy to work with global founders, but you should be available to meet during our standard business hours (8am–6pm PST).

Can I apply if I've applied in the past?

Absolutely. If your company has evolved or grown since your last application, we’d love to see how your vision has progressed.

Will my application be kept confidential?

Yes, your application is kept private and won’t be shared. If you’d like us to sign an NDA beforehand, please email us at hello@alfacharlie.co before submitting.

How do I know if I'm ready for a rebrand?

If your current brand no longer reflects the company you’re building—or if you’ve never really had a proper brand to begin with—this might be the push you need. We’ll guide you through the strategy, help define your positioning, and bring your vision to life through thoughtful, purpose-driven design.

03Office Hours

Even if you don’t win, we’re still here to support you. All WomanKind applicants are invited to book free 15-minute office hours with our co-founders. Use the time however you like—get feedback on your pitch deck, ask branding questions, brainstorm ideas, or just talk through your next steps.

Since we’ll already be familiar with your brand and mission, these sessions are focused, fast, and designed to give you real, actionable insight.

This is our way of continuing the conversation—and helping more women’s health brands move forward, faster.
