Step 1: Client Onboarding
Grab your coffee and pull up a seat. We’ll hop on a call (or video chat) for a virtual coffee date to get to know each other.
We want to know where you’re at in business, what’s driving you to get a logo and, most importantly, to learn if we’re a good fit to work with each other.
We’re relationship people and the connection between us is going to take trust and solid communication.
Step 2: Client Homework
We know homework is something you thought you left behind in grade school. But it’s a crucial step in our logo process.
While we’re doing some research, we’ll have you start with our brand questionnaire to get your creative juices flowing. Trust us, you are creative.
It’s easy to believe you know the purpose of your business. After all, you are the one who started it. But who is your audience? Is your idea sustainable? How will it grow? How will your brand be relevant down the road?
We ask the tough questions to dig deep into the meaning, the purpose and the future of your business.
It’s not always easy and it may challenge you to view your business or creative venture in a way you never have. But through this step, we strive to identify what makes your brand tick. We force you to stretch your imaginations and develop a brand that is designed with the intent to support your growth.
This part may involve some back and forth questions, but when done correctly our clients can articulate and deeply explain their value proposition.
Step 3: Mood Board
Now that the tough part is over, the fun begins. We’ll move to a secret Pinterest board to pull items for inspiration.
This practice will help you focus on applying visual components to your business. Creating a mood board can help set the tone and direction to avoid any misunderstanding before any designing gets done. In a nutshell, this visual representation can help assure everyone is on the same page.
There is nothing off limits to what you can gather and you don’t have to worry about everything relating. We’ll comb through it all together to find common themes, similarities on what’s caught your eye, and begin to discover the emotions you feel towards your inspiration. And the big question we’ll ask is “Why?”
Don’t worry, we’ll be there to support you.
Step 4: Logo Presentation
With the visual guidelines in place, we can begin sketching.
We’re getting giddy at this point. Nothing excites us more than pulling all our research and inspiration together and begin applying it to the ideas running through our heads!
At this stage, we’ll revisit our timeline to make sure your schedule has allotted time for our presentation and for review.
Step 5: Review + Refine
It’s important here to evaluate what’s been created to make sure it has longevity and truly reflects the direction you want your business to go.
Of course, we’d love to know your gut reaction but we advise you to take some time to reflect on what has been presented.
Go back to your creative brief. Do the designs align with what we set forth to achieve?
At this phase, we’ll begin to tighten up the logo design. We’ll hop on a call to discuss your feedback so we can hear your thoughts and provide advice on moving forward.
Changes are a natural part of the design process and we want nothing more than for you to love your logo.
Step 6: Final Deliverables
Pop the champagne! At this point your logo is complete.
To wrap everything up, we’ll put together a package of your logo files and style guide for your personal archive. We’ll assure you have the necessary variations for all purposes, including all the fancy file types — even some you might not be able to open. But hold onto them (even back them up) in case you need them down the road.
